PE gives every learner the chance to excel and be creative in a large variety of sports such as Football, Rugby, Volleyball, Hockey, Athletics and many other indoor and outdoor activities.

Learners will have more of an understanding of how to develop their skill and technique so that this can increase their knowledge of how each sport is played along with the demands needed for those sports including the fitness element and purpose of physical and skill related activities.

Inter School competitions along with leadership activities are also incorporated into the curriculum to give each and every learner develops their social and confidence skills that are needed in specific environments.

Our Outdoor Education Programme is given to our Year 7 learners which give them the opportunity to develop their skills in Kayaking, Mountain Biking, Climbing and Orienteering. The Year 7 groups attending this programme will be automatically invited to attend a fun packed residential in the Lake District at the end of those confidence building activities.

Learners across every Year group are invited to attend our ever popular After School Archery club.

Learners will learn how to:

  • Develop their own health and Fitness
  • Understand the principles of training
  • How to analyse their own performance

At Key Stage 4 our learners are given the opportunity to take the option of the BTEC Level1/2 First Award in Sport where they will learn essential skills such as training for personal fitness, encouraging sports participation, and organising and leading events and activities.
